The standard biOrb Service Kit is suitable for all freshwater (both coldwater and tropical) biOrb aquariums. No other aquarium uses the same advanced filtration system as the biOrb aquariums with their easy-to-change filter cartridges. Each cartridge contains both mechanical and chemical filtration allowing the water to be kept clean and healthier for longer. The natural chemicals reduce substances that affect smell, discoloration and certain microscopic organic impurities while the mechanical filter retains the solid waste particles produced by the fish. The cartridge is simply replaced when the chemicals become depleted and before the mechanical filter becomes blocked, ensuring that the water conditions remain optimized. Regular filter cartridge changes increase the efficiency of the filter system and reduces the amount of cleaning required.


The unique biOrb filter cartridge works like a waste bin, trapping dirt, once full it should be thrown away and replaced with a new one. This should be done every 1-2 months depending on the size of the aquarium and the number of fish kept. A natural substrate in the cartridge balances, polishes and removes impurities from the water helping to keep the crystal clear between changes, the natural chemicals have an active life of 8 weeks.

The biOrb Service Kit is supplied in packs containing - 1 new Freshwater biOrb filter cartridge, 1 cleaning pad, water treatment sachet with a bacteria booster, and full instructions. To use simply unclip the old cartridge and fit a new one every 4-8 weeks, just like taking out the garbage.

If water problems do occur simply replace the standard cartridge with a Reef One treatment cartridge.
